Message its the fact that the fuckin UD pulleys DONT HAVE A HARMONIC DAMPENER! Balance and harmonic dampening are two different things!!!

When you say that most here are college educated, are you the exception to that or did you not pay any attention to physics? I learned enough physics in high school to understand the dynamics of the crank and the need for a harmonic dampener. I can also talk all the qwerks of special relitivity as well if you would like (that's the college education), but that's irrelevant here, just like your claim about balancing.

What I am saying here is that you WILL gain HP from an UD pulley, but you are also running a serious risk of severely damaging your engine. The VG is a very strong engine but why test how strong yours is for a measly grain of HP? And one you have to pay for at that!

: And have taken many physics courses.. Theorey and conjecture is relative, proof and evidence is emperical.

: Whats your next arguement going to be that we should go back to a stock flywheel because it can better dampen viberation?

: I think you guys need to keep chill on your opinions people aren't as stupid as you guys are assuming, everyone knows the risk of a modified car. And until you got proof some real proof don't just jump all over people's case..

: Currently the proof shows that people with 30K+ have had very few problems with the UD pulley. And while someone may have had a rod bearing failure to simply point to UD is not good enough.

: Take a lighten Pulley spin test it to 7200RPMS and record the stress on the axle and then repeat with a stock UD pulley. Then you will have some real data :-) My money is that the UD pulley is already well balanced since it is such a light weight item to begin with and it shaped while being spun.
